Every time I think I have my life figured out, it just gets weirder. Deeper. Stranger. After I moved to Oakland from Michigan it took me about 3 months to figure out that people were actually different here. Everybody speaks with the same Midwestern accent that I do. I only realized it was different when I was at a party and everybody dropped acid, took off their clothes and jumped in a hot tub. I was like, "I haven't seen that before." Also, sex in public is cool here if you do it in the right places, whips, chains, and bondage are boring standard fetishes, and everybody pretty consistently does lots of psychedelics.
Mostly though, it's that there's always more layers and more things to discover.
lyrics
Got our acid and our kinky sex parties
Got our strippers and our anarchist money
Gotta hustle all our friends to stay out late
Gotta hustle so we'll never be a stranger again
Got our couches and our dinner time parties
Got our kitchen and our California cheese
Gotta hustle all our friends to eat our food
Gotta hustle so we'll never be a stranger again
The Deeper We Go
The Stranger We Get
Deeper
Stranger
Got our running and our weight lifting parties
Got our beaches and our sunshine and our trees
Gotta hustle all our friends to hang outside
Gotta hustle so we'll never be a stranger again
Got our welfare and our government parties
Got our freedom and we got our poverty
Gotta hustle all our friends to take the bus
Gotta hustle so we'll never be a stranger again
